Merlicon (Pty) Ltd is a Civil and Structural Engineering Design and Project Management company that was established in 2003 and has grown out of its well-established sister company, Merlin Project Services (Pty) Ltd. The company utilises the collective professional engineering experience of its partners to deliver a comprehensive service to its clients in the industrial, mining, commercial, telecommunications and residential sectors.
Merlicon was specifically established to consolidate its professional civil and structural engineering expertise into a consulting service. The consolidation was undertaken due to increasing demand for these specific services, both on a national and an international basis, as well as the specific infrastructure requirements necessary for the discharging of such a service efficiently. In this business entity, we believe that we offer a comprehensive service in accordance with the framework, guidelines and codes of conduct provided by the Engineering Council of South Africa.
On several projects, we have undertaken the complete turnkey engineering and construction function through cooperation with our sister company, Injineli (Pty) Ltd. “Injineli” translates to Engineer in Xhosa.
Merlicon will focus its efforts on providing professional structural and civil engineering consulting responses to its clients by ensuring that their specific requirements are accurately incorporated into cost-effective design solutions.
Merlicon will attempt to develop long-term relationships with clients to understand client-specific needs and so improve its service levels to its customers.
Merlicon will endeavour to grow the knowledge developed with clients in the Western Cape by expanding such activities on a national and international basis. To do this, Merlicon will make optimal use of electronic data transfer and advances in information and communications technology.
Merlicon will, where expedient, consider joint venture operations or staff secondments to meet the requirements of clients on a national and international level.
Merlicon will focus its activities primarily on the structural and civil fields of engineering. To this end, it will grow and train the expertise of its technical design and draughting staff.
Merlicon will promote black economic empowerment, equal opportunities and a partnership approach when developing its business opportunities. Wherever possible, Merlicon will attempt to provide development opportunities to previously disadvantaged groups when considering staff selections and joint venture partnering.
