Services

Detailed Civil and Structural Design and Engineering and Project Management

The design disciplines offered by Merlicon include the following:

Structural Steel (including the design and survey of steel support structures for both static and dynamic loading)
Building Structures (including the design and survey of concrete support, flooring and founding structures, as well as timber roofing designs)
Civil Structures (including the design of retaining walls/systems, layer works and road surfacing)
Bulk Earthworks (including terracing, platforms, mass balances and BOQ’s)
Civil Services (including the design of sewer, effluent and storm-water drainage facilities associated with building projects)
Industrial (including factory layouts)
Fibreglass Structures (including the design of both fibreglass panels and pultruded fibreglass sections)

Draughting and Detailing Services

The professional engineering team is supported by a full CAD draughting facility, operating on the latest Autodesk products. This enables the team to produce detailed drawings from the conceptual design phase to the final design (including workshop drawings of structural steelwork). We offer BIM services to our clients and produce 3D models to suit our clients’ needs.

Project Management

Our core competencies allow us to seamlessly manage civil and structural construction projects. At the request of some of our clients, we have successfully managed and administered several infrastructure builds.

Document Control

A comprehensive document control system supports the above technical disciplines and has been based on the requirements of ISO 9002. This control system deals with the handling of design codes, client/company drawing revisions, archiving of drawings and design calculations, as well as the control of electronic information.
